Additional The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (Signet Classics) Information
|
Few books capture both the simplicity and complexities of American life quite like these enduring "boyhood" classics by Mark Twain.
The Adventures of Tom Sawyer Take a lighthearted, nostalgic trip to a simpler time, seen through the eyes of a special boy named Tom Sawyer. It is a summertime world of hooky and adventure, pranks and punishment, villains and young love.
Adventures of Huckleberry Finn He has no mother, his father is a drunkard, and he sleeps in a barrel. He's Huck Finn-liar, sometime thief, and rebel against respectability. But when Huck meets a runaway slave named Jim, his life changes forever. And on a raft floating down the Mississippi, the boy nobody wanted matures into a young man of courage and conviction.
Now includes a new introduction.

Excellent leather-bound copy of the adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.Very good buy.
This is the kind of book parents should read to their children. It's a kind of tactile experience that enhances the stories in a timeless manner.
The book is in a very good condition. I have to blame myself as I didn't pay attention to the delivery date - it took like 3 weeks to get it here. But as it was not urgent for me I am pretty happy.
I just want to point out that this hardcover Everyman's Library edition is not abridged. Most of the reviews posted here apply to the Signet mass market edition, which apparently is abridged. The Everyman's edition contains both novels in full.
Tom Sawyer and the sequel Huck Finn are two amazing books. Mark Twain is intelligent and funny and even though the titles aren't the brand new New York Times novels we're used to they remain poingaunt and entertaining. These books are a cheap must-have for any reader who enjoys adventure, humor, childhood, and the Mississippi River.
